Rules, Species & Time

Most of this game book was written before the rules were chosen and set down. Once chosen I decided to write the rules as if they were a 'showcase' set for a future fantasy setting. This has resulted in sections about Magic and Species that seem completely useless in regards to the story given.
In my current attempt to integrate the species into the world I discovered that my existing timeline for the backstory had become corrupted. What should have been a few years had become a few decades. Gaps in time were common and many events listed in backstory were given no dates thus making them hard to pin down in the course of events.
Magic still makes no appearance and has no bearing on how the story plays out where the players choices are concerned.
Species on the other hand offers many new options and opens up new expansions on the story to be delivered. This can become problematic as magic is an element integrated into several of the character species that can be chosen. Basicly I can't have one without the other.
